Yiannis Sarakatsanis

After an unsuccessful attempt to study mathematics at the University of Patras, he managed to study acting at the “Contemporary Theatre of Athens” and physical theater at the “School of Physical Theatre” in London. In 2004 he founded the theater group AbOvo, whose best-known works are: “There, There in Hell”, “Mama Greece 2”, “The Foundation” and “The Planet” with which they won the first prize at the BE Festival in Birmingham in 2010. From 2008 to 2019 he was Artistic Director of the Bob Theatre Festival. He has been involved in more than 50 plays as an actor, director or writer and has been nominated twice for a ‘Koun’ Award, once for an Athinorama Award but has yet to win anything… At the same time he does improvisation, stand-up comedy, acting seminars and, since 2020, he has a successful YouTube channel in which he examines, always humorously, topics of philosophy, psychology and science.
